Although every job is different, there are five milestones that you can expect throughout the building process:
1. Needs Analysis
We'll meet at our office showroom to determine your wants and needs and work to establish basic budget options. Usually, we'll discuss whether we're working within an existing space, what components are included; cabinets, lighting fixtures, floor coverings, wall finishes, plumbing fixtures, countertop materials. We'll try to pinpoint your functionality objectives (how your space will be used to fit your lifestyle) and show you some of our past projects to get a feel for your specific tastes. Once we've drawn up a basic plan of attack, we'll sign a design agreement. Although blueprints or drawings are very helpful for this conversation, they are not necessary.
2. House Call
We'll make a trip to your home to survey the existing conditions, sketch notes on your molding and lighting and plumbing fixtures, and take measurements on the full renovation space. If you did not have existing blueprints or drawings for our first meeting, the measurements we take in this visit will serve for our preliminary design drawings.
3. Plan Review
We'll provide you at least two design options in drawings. We'll compare and contrast the benefits of each design and determine which better suits your needs. At this point we'll look back to our needs analysis for product recommendations that will compliment your personal aesthetic.
4. Project Review
By the time we have made a final drawing, we'll write up a contract detailing product specifications and building and payment schedules.
5. Construction
As soon as your requested building materials have been delivered to our showroom we will begin construction, allowing for the construction time to depend only upon the scale of the renovations.
