As a busy family with small children, function was important. But with an eye for design and detail, it should be beautiful too.  With these goals in mind, we took out a small island and restrictive peninsula to make way for the new centerpiece and workhorse – the 9’ island.  We chose finishes for beauty and durability. Softness was achieved by hiding most of the stainless steel appliances in custom cabinetry and the hood created a clever space to display art.  Quartz tops and a cast iron sink will stand up to the rigors of finger painting and general mayhem.
